Montsable Pinot Noir The wines of Montsablé are inspired by the desire to craft elegant Burgundian varietals from Southern France. Working with growers in cooler sites of lower vigour, we seek out fruit that delivers pure flavours and great balance. In the winery, the fruit is handled carefully to build texture and mouthfeel, with oak only ever used to add just the most subtle of seasoning. The result is a Chardonnay with great palate weight, bright fruit and texture while our Pinot positively sings with lifted cherry and wild strawberry fruit. Tasting Note: This classic Burgundian variety has been produced in the sunny climate of Languedoc in the south of France. Although much warmer than the cool climate of the Cote d’Or great care has been taken to ensure that it is every bit as elegant. The nose is aromatic with fresh cherries, strawberry and bramble and just the faintest hint of vanilla. On the palate there is tremendous depth to the fruit which is supported by an underlying minerality and beautifully balanced acidity. Food Match: We have paired this with Chipotle Haddock with Avocado and Crispy Baby Potatoes
Castillo de Eneriz Reserva Vic Manzanos has a nose for wine, and given his Rioja estate already straddles the border of Rioja and Navarra, he thought adding a very good Navarra estate would be exciting. 18 months in barrel and a full 6 years in bottle make this a real cracker! Tasting Note: Rioja without the name and price tag, made by a master of Rioja! This wine balances oaky character with fruitiness and hints of spice with a finish as lengthy as you would expect from a classic reserva. Food Match: We have paired this with Thai Meatballs with Stir Fried Veg & Jasmine Rice
Messer del Fauno Grillo Messer del Fauno has been producing wine since 1875 but this Grillo is a radical departure from the venerable tradition. Grillo is one of Sicily's best white grape varieties as this unoaked white wine illustrates. Tasting Note: Delicate bouquet with notes or tropical fruits and Mediterranean flowers it is rich and full on the palate. Dry with refreshing acidity it has a nutty, citrus flavour with hints of stemmed apple. Well made wine with lovely crisp, dry finish. Food Match: We have paired this with Roast Harissa Chicken with Sweet Potato & Peppers
Centelleo Tempranillo Syrah Literally meaning "the most wanted", Vinos Más Buscados is a collection of wines grown and nurtured in the Southern half of Spain, mainly in the area known as La Mancha. The vineyards are closely monitored so grapes are picked at their best and the state of the art winery is well equipped with the most modern winemaking machinery to create fantastic wines. Tasting Note: Spain's most famous grape variety, Tempranillo, is full of juicy bramble and cherry fruits with a hint of spice on the nose while the palate displays soft rounded tannins. This red is supple and succulent with a juicy finish. Food Match: We have paired this with Cosy Beef Goulash with Bulgar Wheat
